On April 26th, as one of the partner representatives, Bandao Stock participated in China Telecom’s 5G Innovation Cooperation Conference themed on “Hello 5G Enabling the Future” and signed a 5G cooperation agreement with China Telecom, announcing that both parties would carry out in-depth cooperation centering on 5G smart city cluster and boosting Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (“GBA”), to further accelerate the pace of 5G commercialization. Hu Zumin, Deputy General Manager of Bandao Stock, attended the conference on behalf of the Company.
The signing cooperation covered 17 companies including Huawei, ZTE and our company. The global 5G industry chain representative manufacturers, related industry leading enterprises and cities of GBA shared the latest achievements in 5G technology R&D and application. Wang Weizhong, Deputy Secretary of Guangdong Provincial Party Committee & Secretary of Shenzhen Municipal Party Committee, Zhang Feng, Chief Engineer of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Qin Weizhong, Deputy Governor of Guangdong Province, and Chen Rugui, Mayor of Shenzhen City, attended the conference. Ke Ruiwen, Chairman of China Telecom Corporation Limited, delivered a speech with the theme of “Innovating & Opening Up Enabling the Future”.
In his speech, Zhang Feng put forward three suggestions for accelerating the development of 5G technology industry: Firstly, to promote the maturity of the industry, lay a solid foundation for development, accelerate the maturity of 5G networks, chips, terminals and other end-to-end technologies and products, and play the main role of operating enterprises, build high-quality 5G excellent networks, and consolidate the network infrastructure. Secondly, to deepen the application of integration, expand the development space, carry out pilot demonstrations of key enterprises in important industries, explore and build an integration application promotion mechanism that can be replicated and promoted, and guide 5G to accelerate application in key areas such as industry, energy, transportation, medical care and environmental protection, as well as explore the broad space of 5G in vertical industry integration. Thirdly, to strengthen policy coordination, create a favorable environment, strengthen policy coordination in standards formulation, security assurance, resource allocation etc., and form a 5G industrial ecosystem with wide coverage, strong interaction and vitality.
Qin Weizhong expressed that Guangdong will deeply implement a new round of three-year action plan for information infrastructure construction this year, launch 5G network deployment in the Pearl River Delta city cluster, accelerate the pace of 5G commercialization, introduce an action plan to accelerate the development of 5G industry, and vigorously promote the development of 5G industry, cultivate new economic growth points, enhance new driving forces for economic development, and boost the high-quality development of Guangdong’s economy. The holding of the 5G innovation cooperation conference integrating strategy, practicability and scientific technology by China Telecom in Guangdong will play an important role in promoting the development of Guangdong’s information industry and innovation cooperation & exchanges in all aspects. It is sincerely hoped that China Telecom can seize the major opportunities of Guangdong in accelerating the development of information technology and boosting itself with great network, further participate in the 5G industry development action plan, accelerate the construction of world-class 5G infrastructure, and build an excellent 5G industry ecology, to help the province create new advantages for digital economy development.
Chen Rugui said that Shenzhen will accelerate the pace of 5G commercialization, actively promote 5G and other information infrastructures in interconnection among GBA, to jointly build a globally influential international science and technology innovation center; besides, it will continuously improve the “basic research + technology research + industrialization of research results + technology & finance” whole-process innovation ecological chain, to build a first-class platform, provide first-class service and create a first-class environment for all kinds of innovative carriers, innovation and application of results with all its strength. It is hoped that under the guidance and support of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, leading and backbone enterprises such as China Telecom will continue to play their advantages in 5G network construction, industrial agglomeration, application innovation and other aspects, and continue to increase investment, R&D and application in Shenzhen, to promote Shenzhen's development in 5G and make it take the lead in the country and even the world.
At the 5G Innovation Cooperation Conference, China Telecom deeply shared its understanding of 5G, released many achievements of 5G innovation cooperation, disclosed 5G development strategies and other important content, and also demonstrated 5G capabilities as well as released a large number of innovation business, including 5G application in the top ten industries, 5G+cloud innovation services, 5G+ industrial Internet, etc. The conference set up an interactive experience & demonstration exhibition area and several 5G innovation presentation venues without precedent in the country, showed the cross-provincial cross-domain 5G HD video connection under the SA-based hybrid network, and held the launching ceremony of “Jointly Building 5G Smart City Cluster to Boost the GBA’s Development”.
