In order to further broaden the vision of the students of T&W Hope Primary Schools and initiate their dreams, on Nov. 13th, 20 students and 4 teachers from Xizhou and Eryuan T&W Hope Primary Schools of Yunnan Province went to Dali to launch the “flying hope” autumn outing of T&W Hope Primary School Camp (Dali) for 2021.
On that day, the children from Xizhou and Eryuan T&W Hope Primary Schools of Yunnan Province excitedly came to the first stop of the autumn outing - Dali Sea World for a close interaction with marine animals. Following the steps of the interpreter sister, the camp members saw various aquatic animals and plants that could be seen only in books at ordinary times. A wide variety of big and small fishes grabbed the attention of the camp members. Through the guidance and interpretation of the interpreter sister, the camp members knew the diversity of colorful lives. At the same time, the aquarium vividly presented the formation of Cang Mountain and Erhai Lake and folk tradition and customs such as tie-dyeing of Dali and the famous cuisine dance of Nanjian so that the students had a further understanding of their hometown.
In the afternoon, the leading teachers led the camp members to visit General Zhou Baozhong’s Memorial Hall. The camp members looked at the statue of General Zhou Baozhong with reverence, attentively listened to his excellent deeds and studied the enterprising spirit and patriotism of this general of Bai nationality.
At last, the leading teachers led the camp members to visit Gusheng Village of Dali, which was a beautiful village. Following the footprints of Grandpa Xi Jinping, the students gained personal experience about the importance of ecological environmental protection and were further stimulated a love for their hometown. Wherever they are, they will “remember nostalgia”, just as Grandpa Xi Jinping said.
The significance of this “flying hope” autumn outing was not only for acquiring knowledge. It broadened the children’s horizon, made them harvest happiness and friendship, and motivate them to chase dreams bravely and strive to be good youths in a new era.
